I Will Deal With Those Who Say There Will Be No Election In Anambra – Obinano Spits Fire

Governor Willie Obiano has issued a warning to the Nnamdi Kanu-led Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) to stay clear of Anamabra state ahead of its November 18 gubernatorial election.

The Punch reports that the governor insisted that he would deal with anyone posing a threat to the election regardless of highly placed the person might be.

He said Biafra agitators have no power to stop elections in the state and urged them to have a rethink or be ready to face the full wrath of the law.

He said: “We are going to go after them, we will deal with those who said there would be no election in the state decisively.

“People are free to vote candidates of their choice, you can see that in Anambra state today people now sleep with their two eyes closed.”

The Anambra state Police Commissioner, Garba Umar, warned that security agencies in the state would deal decisively with any group that threatens to disrupt the upcoming governorship election in the state.

Umar warned that security agents will not fold its arm and watch “disgruntled elements truncate” the peace in the state which they are working assiduously to maintain.

The statement reads: “Our attention has been drawn that some misguided elements have perfected plans to disrupt the relative peace through streets protests and to declare that the Anambra state Governorship Election Scheduled for November, 2017 will not hold.

“This is to achieve their selfish political aggrandizement thereby threatening democratic processes causing serious security threats in Anambra State in particular, and the Country at large..”
